Photography is an art. It’s a path we chose to travel and not a destination. Our journey through this pave helps us explore our own hidden self and then associate it to the world at large. Our inherited personalities, perceptions and attitudes, fears and self-possessions, are all scrutinized during this voyage as we strive for a state of equilibrium in both personal and professional lives. The conscious realization of the true self is all what matters at the end and Photography somewhere helps us achieve this.
Photography is like Meditation… directing our minds to one domain. Bringing inner peace, harmony and stability, it compels us to be receptive to all what the world has to offer and then interweave this information with our own perceptions to create artworks.
Couple of months back, when I attended an artist talk, I was taken aback by her statement that “For me competition begins from my home as I am from a family of artists.” Any art is a concoction of individual personality wedded with the environmental influences and life experiences thus differentiating each artist from the other. Then, from where comes the notion of competition. With our unique psyches and varied life experiences we are only adding something to this vast and stupendous medium unlike other photographers who remarkably contributed in some ways or the other to photography. They constantly and relentlessly kept exploring themselves and the art form and their eternal strive for virtuosity was all what bought them success.
So, just move out of your shells, explore your inner self and the world around with Photography. Don’t forget of being receptive to all the positivities and goodness it has to offer while discarding off the negativities that pulls you down the track. Empty your mind and look around with novel and fresh thoughts and ideas. The world is simply beautiful. So, keep clicking and keep exploring!
